Bossy Young Entrepreneurs (BYE) of YTA (Youth Taking Authority) participated in LOUISIANA LEMONADE DAY hosted by Raising Cane's. The name of their stand is BYE LEMONADE! Our entrepreneurs program prepares the young minds of our youth to understand business and how to make money as an entrepreneur based on the things they love. We help every child tap into their passion and talents during this class. Thanks for all the supporters in front of Winn Dixie at our Bossy Young Entrepreneurs (BYE) last Saturday from 8 am – 1 pm. YOUR CHANGE HELPS CHANGE A LIFE!
Van Donation Needed for YTA Afterschool Program
People of Purpose Community Development Corporation is a tax exempt nonprofit 501c3 organization that helps youth and families in transition resolve life challenges in their family, life, and finances to achieve success in every area of life. We offer social services, education, and healthy lifestyles that meet the needs of the whole family.
YTA (Youth Taking Authority) is our youth program that provides positive youth development services including the arts, athletics, after-school and Saturday programs, summer enrichment camps, summer employment, education, leadership development, and young entrepreneurship classes that prepare and equip youth as future leaders to DARE TO DREAM!
Our new CyberPlay Café Afterschool program provides digital learning for school age youth in the East Baton Rouge area. The goal is to prepare children through digital learning for college, work and life. We provide homework help, tutoring, and mentors for kids in our program.
We had a van temporarily that someone was kind of enough to provide their services as an in kind donation. Now we are in need of a van to continue providing transportation for our youth we serve from 5 different schools. We have volunteers and tutors from the community, local artists, parents, and LSU students that are investing their time to help our youth excel academically, improve their grades in school, and improve their behavior at school, home, and the community through nurturing, positive reinforcements.
Currently, our staff is helping by using their vehicles to ensure that our kids get to our center to learn and have fun in a positive environment. We are growing and need a van to accommodate the number of kids we serve. Through our youth programs, we foster a commitment to our youth that facilitate opportunities for youth to achieve their educational goals and achieve success in every area of life.
We would greatly appreciate your contribution of a donation of any amount to help us reach our goal. If you would like to donate so you can receive a tax deductible donation letter, please contact us. Thanks for your willingness to give by making an impact to give back!
ANGEL WINGS PROJECT
Angel Wings symbolizes God’s presence as a guardian angel. And we want our youth and families to know they are not alone during the holiday season. Be their guardian angel, give them hope and faith during the Christmas Season. Please join us and help show love, support, and comfort to someone else in need.
Be a Guardian Angel for one of our families in need. We offer holistic services that empowers individuals and families during life's transitions and unexpected crisis situations to overcome family, life, and financial challenges that address family matters by developing an action plan for their blueprint for success. Yet, the majority of these single parents are working families living barely above the poverty line that receive no government assistance which is the reason our services are needed to bridge the gap where there are lacking support to provide for their families.
Therefore, we know the holidays is a challenging time to continue to make ends meet for our families. And something may go lacking in their homes whether it is food, bills, or a safe place that provides a nurturing environment like we do at the POP Family Center located at 6434 Pecue Lane, Suite A during after school hours and on Saturdays while the parents are at work. We provide homework help, tutoring, mentoring, and enrichment classes for our youth. If you would like to be participate in the Angel Wings Project, please contact us at 877-742-7487 or info@peopleofpurpose.info.
PRESENT HELP
Present Help is a community partnership that connects, equips, and change people lives. We promote community organizing through collaboration of services and resources for those in need of help in times of trouble dealing discouragement, hopelessness, and being overwhelmed with unexpected life situations or crisis through a network of a diverse group of individuals, businesses, ministries, and churches of various faith. The collaborative efforts provides resources, collects and distributes money to provide human services to some of the neediest citizens of our area who have been screened by our Transition Coordinators. Through our "Foot Soliders" we offer community service to help impact change in people's lives and for every person we've helped we encourage them to give back through opportunities to serve others.
Present Help is calling on people in the community to empower others through their work for their city. Empowering these leaders to get “off the bench and into the game” has the potential to connect people with opportunities to transform the lives of hundreds of thousands of people in Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana and beyond.
This partnership through POP CDC will serve as a central hub that will offer immediate Access To Services through a a centralized database system for all program partners to assess in regards to the potential individuals and families to serve in their area. The program provides quality service through a wholistic approach to encourage positive change through effective interventions of interpersonal and cross-system interactions which includes the individual, family, community, church, school, and peers. Throughout the course of the program, each individual will make an effort to rebuild both a sense of self and the mechanics of life by examining the full scope of his or her condition, including spiritually, emotionally, financial stability, physical health as well as the family’s environment and social situation.
Get involved, become a Present Help Partner and work beyond the walls of your organization to serve others in your community. For more information, contact Coalition Organizer Stefanie Ashford at stefanie@peopleofpurpose.info.
